You could get free cake from Pepper Crescent too!

Café regulars will probably remember that at the last event a couple of special offers were announced at Pepper Crescent for Foursquare users.

The most exciting offer (at least for the current Mayor, Chris) is the free cake offered to the Mayor every week. This means that every week he gets to choose between a free brownie, slice of pepper crescent cake, cup cake, flapjack or any other cake on sale at the time.

Since the start of this offer Chris has managed to maintain his Mayorship most weeks which makes me think more people need to know! I’m telling you this partly to encourage friendly competition and partly because I’m fed up of watching him fill his face with brownie every week.

The second deal they’re offering is better for early birds and people who understand the joy of Pepper Crescent breakfasts. It’s the eggs that make them exciting for me. I can only imagine how much butter goes into their scrambled eggs to make them so delicious – they’re definitely not something I could manage to eat every day but once a week seems reasonable. That’s why the second deal is so good, because if I chose to have one of their breakfasts on a Tuesday between 8 and 10am I can get a free cup of coffee.

I should point out, there are other options available and lighter breakfasts can be had. You don’t have to fill up on scrambled eggs with a packet of butter in each serving (or whatever it is). That’s just what I end up doing every time I go in for breakfast!

Cake’s a subject dear to my heart, and since first buying some of Vanilla Pod Bakery‘s cupcakes at Cheltenham farmers’ market a few weeks ago, I’ve become a big fan.
